Overview of Diem Adapters
Diem Adapters connect specific business applications point to point; from the specific applications to HP TRIM. They either capture records from the application to TRIM, or capture events from HP TRIM for later use. You can capture records from Multi-Function Peripherals, Microsoft Email and AutoCAD, or capture HP TRIM’s Audit Events into Windows Event Logs.
eCopy Connector
The eCopy Connector for HP TRIM allows direct distributed ad-hoc scanning capture to HP TRIM from Multi-Function Peripherals (MFPs) that use eCopy ShareScan. This product allows users to register scanned documents directly into HP TRIM using the MFP’s interface. This does not need the end user to operate their machines, rather work from the Scanner instantaneously.
Email Capture Adapter
Our Diem Email Capture software is currently in testing. This software will capture all received and sent emails into TRIM automatically.
Audit Capture Adapter
Security conscious clients have a requirement to capture the TRIM Audit Logs into a format more useful for monitoring events. Currently event logs in TRIM are written to a text log and are not easily visible to administrators. Therefore any potential unauthorized access to secure information within TRIM is not being easily monitored. iCognition has developed a solution which enables TRIM Audit Logs to be converted into Event Logs, therefore enabling administrators to report on any potential security breaches. These event logs can also be captured by advanced auditing software such SNARE (System iNtrusion Analysis and Reporting Environment) to facilitate centralised analysis of audit log data.
AutoCAD Adapter
Capture and retrieve complex linked AutoCAD drawings to HP TRIM. Our CAD Adapter Foundation supplies check-in and check-out functionality of CAD drawings and associated linked files. Due to the complexities of linked drawing files and the variations between AutoCAD versions, Diem CAD Adapter is sold as a foundation product from which iCognition builds custom requirements. This means that you will get a solution that is customised to your particular needs and matches your IT environment, and it will also be cheaper for a wider rollout across your organisation (i.e. there are no licencing restrictions).

Description

eCopy Connector for HP TRIMs
Functionality
eCopy Connector for HP TRIM utilises the HP TRIM SDK to scan and route documents from eCopy ShareScan directly into HP TRIM. The connector currently supports:
- Active Directory Integration
- Send from Generic and Send From Personal (Authentication)
- Dynamic Forms based on Record Type selection
- User Based Security – Users only have access to Record Types, Containers for which they have been granted access
- Preset Record Types
The following functionality is available:
- Authentication – Account in configuration is used only as the default account. Currently authentication is controlled by a valid account in the profile, if the account is invalid or absent the user will have to authenticate at runtime. This is going to be altered in Administration Console to explicitly reference whether to use Runtime or Login As functionality
- Default Record Type – Record Type can be preset to specific values for all scanned documents with a profile. If empty the Record Type field will be displayed in client
- Meta-Data Profile Form – Dynamic, based on Record Type. Type-ahead for Author, Assignee and other locations supported
- Mandatory Fields –Currently supported but not on currently identified on client
- Search Container – User can enter ContainerRecord NumberFolder directly
- Recently Used Containers – By user, drop down will display recently used containers the user has scanned to at the ShareScan client (Note: currently handled via XML file per user per Services Manager, more robust alternate methods will be evaluated to be uses).
Technical
The eCopy Connector is a Microsoft .Net 2.0 Framework based eCopy-TRIM connector. The adapter needs to be installed for every MFP that needs to connect to HP TRIM.
Following is a list of system requirements on MFP machines;
- eCopy ShareScan and prerequisites
- HP TRIM 6.1, 6.2 or above client installed on the machine
- Microsoft.Net Framework2.0 installed
The eCopy Connector can be installed by double clicking its MSI. It installs on a default path under eCopy connectors, which is important for it to function. The adapter can then be configured using the standard eCopy ShareScan Administration tool that ships with eCopy.

Functionality
iCognition’s Diem Audit Capture is designed to work in conjunction with the TRIM Event Processor in creating easily read audit information in standard Microsoft Windows Event Log system. TRIM add-on is designed to assist in the near real-time collection of Auditing information for monitoring purposes. By doing so, each Audit log entry becomes its own Event Log entry that can be easily read and/or used further by applications that already use the Event Log to monitor a server’s activity.
Technical
The installation of the Diem Audit Capture consists of a software installation and the configuration of the TRIM Event Processor. This software is only required to be installed on the TRIM system dealing with Audit Log processing.

Our CAD Adapter foundation supplies the following core functionality:
- Check CAD drawing into TRIM, with associated linked files
- Check-out CAD drawing from TRIM, including associated linked files
- Check-out a drawing (or associated linked files), and attach it to an open drawing
- Manages linked documents to ensure the integrity of existing drawings in TRIM
- Save each CAD file with an associated image rendition so that users who do not have AutoCAD can view the drawings

- What versions of AutoCAD need to be handled?
